In the membrane process, filtration occurs based on molecular size, where particles with molecules larger than water molecules, such as:

Certain organic substances
Bacteria, viruses, pyrogens, etc.
The primary application of Reverse Osmosis is to remove salt solutions/desalination, with the additional effect of eliminating other substances and organisms.
